Personal data protection

Personal data protection is carried out in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (General Data Protection Regulation).

Why do we process the data of authors and users of works of authorship?

The data is processed in order to:
•    carry out the collective management of property rights of authors of visual arts,
•    ensure the protection of copyright, 
•    administer remuneration for the use works of authorship,
•    administer licenses for the legitimate use of works of authorship,
•    personalize the access of authors to their profiles,
•    answer the questions of authors and users of works of authorship and provide information,
•    provide support to authors and users of works of authorship,
•    analyze the needs of authors and users of works of authorship in order to develop new products and offers.

Personal data of authors and users of works of authorship is processed in accordance with the policy described in the General Data Protection Regulation.

In order to protect the privacy and safety of authors and users of works of authorship, the association "Art. Copyright. Cultural Education." takes appropriate measures to verify the identity before the data processing.

Who is responsible for processing the data of authors and users of works of authorship?

The data manager, who is responsible for processing the data of authors and users of works of authorship, is the association "Art. Copyright. Cultural Education.".
Data managers are the authorized employees of the association "Art. Copyright. Cultural Education." and the authorized persons. Data managers who have access to personal data are required to ensure the protection and confidentiality of the information processed. The information about the data of authors and users of works of authorship is used exclusively for the tasks listed above (in the section "Why do we process the data of authors and users of works of authorship?").

Which data do we process?

•    The contact information of authors and users of works of authorship, including name, surname or company name, personal code, e-mail, phone numbers, address.
•    Bank requisites of authors and users of works of authorship (for invoicing and payment of remuneration).
•   The information provided by the authors, which is included in the personal profile created on the website www.makart.lv.

How long do we store the data?

We store personal data as long as it is necessary to perform the tasks listed in the section "Why do we process the data of authors and users of works of authorship?".

How can you gain access to your data, check their accuracy and correct them?

Each data subject has the right to request a copy of their personal data, verify the accuracy of the information and, if necessary, fix it or update it. Authors and users of works of authorship can also ask to completely delete all personal information, if it is not necessary to perform the tasks listed in the section "Why do we process the data of authors and users of works of authorship?".

Where to aplly in the case of questions or complaints?

If you want to access, delete (in some cases) or correct the personal information, contact the data manager responsible for processing this data by e-mail info@makart.lv.

In case of any complaints and conflicts, please contact the association "Art. Copyright. Cultural Education." by email  info@makart.lv.

If the author or user of works of authorship files a complaint concerning privacy, the association will register the name, surname or name of the company, the email address of the applicant and the information on which the complaint is based. Such information will be used to process the complaint and respond to the applicant.
